Horse-drawn Carriage Tours with
Peppermint Creek Carriage Co.
Tour California's Golden Past!

Peppermint Creek Carriage Company offers interpretive tours of Sonora, an 1849 Gold Rush Town. You will be transported back in time in our beautiful, authentic carriages pulled by noble Belgian Draft horses. Travelling along at a relaxing horse-drawn pace, we will spin the incredible stories of California's Gold Rush. The historic districts, homes, businesses, and pioneer families provide interpretative opportunities that will delight, inform, and enhance the experience of the modern day traveller.

Peppermint Creek Carriage Company has it's own roots in this historic town. This family owned and operated business has ancestors that were rich miners, freighters, farmers, and lumbermen. We are delighted to invite you on a tour of this Gold Rush town and share with you the secrets of its racous past. We have researched the very secrets of this outwardly charming town and know about the hidden mining shafts, the gambling halls, and the fires that concealed the crimes of the prominent. We invite you to tour with us as we divulge the name of a stage-coach robber turned poet, make the connection between Sunday worship and whiskey, and spin the tales of the miners who made (and lost) their fortune in Sonora!

We offer tours by reservation only and can currently accomodate large groups. Tours are one half-hour and include an informational pamphlet entitled "Sonora...A Guide to Yesterday".
